I know I could probably google this but I'm going to ask here instead. We are going to look at a 2016 Nissan Maxima tomorrow. It has around 20k miles. I know the factory warranty is 3yr/36k miles. Does that carry over from owner to owner or what? I will have factory warranty up until the 3 yr mark or 36k miles right even though I'll be the potentially 2nd owner ?

Yes you get to finish out the warranty that the first owner had.
Plus if the previous owner had an extended warranty you get that too.

First part is correct, mostly. Second is not. An extended warranty is a contract that only covers the one that purchased it. Even some factory powertrain warranty (Kia Hyundai) only allow full coverage to the original owner. With Nissan, all factory coverage goes with the vehicle, regardless of owner.

As stated above, you will get to finish out the factory warranty. Some extended warranties are transferable, some are not.
