Welcome to the TNDeer Classifieds! I've written this guide to help you understand and manage expectations for using this part of the TNDeer community.

As a member, you understand that we offer the classifieds as a free service to the community. As such you understand this service is a buyer's beware and if you do not accept this, you should not use this part of the community.

Why don't I have permission to post here?
The classified section of TNDeer is just one part of the community.

To list an item for sale in the classifieds you must upgrade your membership, and become a TNDeer Supporting Member.

You are not required to have an upgraded membership to make a purchase.

Previously we operated on a $5 donation if an item sold. This is no longer in effect if you're an active supporting member.

Tips for Buyers:

• Know what you are buying!
• Ask for recently taken detailed pictures with as much identifying information as possible.
• Verify any contact information (besides just an email).
• Know the value and condition before claiming an item.
• Ask for an inspection period particularly if it's an expensive item.
• Insist on trackable payments/shipping to verify where items are.
• Use secure payment methods, Paypal, and credit cards if possible.
• Check to see if the user has any feedback ratings at the top of the thread posting.
• Unless payment has been made, the item is not "claimed".
• You can get a pretty good sense of someone's character on the phone.

Tips for leases

• Name of the landowner if different from person leasing.
• Map and parcel number of the land being leased.
• The total number of acres of the lease.
• The number of hunters allowed on the lease.
• The number of additional hunters that may have access for recreational or hunting the lease.
• Get a list of any lease rules.

Tips for Sellers:

• Include clear photos detailing the condition and showing brand, model numbers, etc.
• Never send an item without receiving a cleared payment.
• Ensure your item travels well, so pack it up appropriately.
• Get tracking on your shipment, and provide it to the buyer as quickly as possible.
• Always include shipping insurance in your posting.
• Check to see if the user has any feedback ratings at the top of the thread posting.
• Unless payment has been made, the item is not "claimed".
• You can get a pretty good sense of someone's character on the phone.

• Let users know if you are posting your listing on multiple sites.

Commercial use
If you are a business/startup/side hustle/make things to make money this applies to you:

• You must engage with me, by sending a PM first.
• To post your classified listing (1x per month) you must have an active Business Supporter membership
• If your subscription expires, your posts are removed.
• No posting anywhere else in the forum.
• No unsolicited conversations trying to sell your goods. (members should report this)
• Share a 400x200 jpg static image, that will rotate for all members at the top of most pages.
  • We reserve the right to limit the ad spaces available and modify their location.

Understanding meeting strangers in person can be dangerous.
Always meet in a public place, and be well-lit.
Let others know when and where you are going.
Trust your instincts, if something doesn't feel right, don't second guess.

After any thread in the classified section without a new post within 60 days, it is moved automatically to the Sold/Expired forum, where it will not be reopened.
