Let me preface by saying I am not at all estranged to the doctors office. Just last week I was at My e,n & t specialist scheduling my next (#6) ear surgery.
Well then last night about 11 my right ear practically goes nearly deaf on my and starts ringing. I call And make an appointment today and this is what we figured
The ear looked good upon inspection. After test, it was determined that I had a 20 decibel loss from my test one week ago. This is considered significant loss. The doctor said I have what is called "sudden auditory hearing loss syndrome". On the the surface, its kind of unexplainable, and sometimes there is no answer for it and sometimes it is caused by other factors such as: a viral infection, blood clot, localized stroke, or a tumor. Therefore, I am having a full brain MRI done Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. to determine if these are factors or not. In the meantime he is putting me on an anti-viral medicine and a steroid to see if they help recover the hearing loss. Thank you for your prayers!
