Having worked in a different branch of state government, each purchase goes through at least 3, if not 4 people before getting paid. It's mundane work, and normally you are just clicking a button on a computer screen and moving on the the next one, without really looking at the "numbers". As long as you have the receipt, you're good.

It sucks that our fees and tax dollars are wasted like this...Many govt agencies have cars and cards....Wonder if that is happening in any other parts of our local/state/federal government... (rhetorical question for anyone that didn't get it...lol)

I used to have a friend who worked for a contractor in Nashville. He had a company card and truck that was a gas burner. He would fill his diesel truck and get gas for all his toys. I guess they never really cared or paid attention. My conscious would never let me do that. I have a company truck and card and I wouldn't even think about it. Karma

Exactly right.

I see it happening as well, and it usually goes on for quite awhile, until their supervisors get tired of it and finally decide to put an end to the thievery.

Same here. I won't even take my gas jugs and fill them up for mowers or 4 wheelers with my debit card the same time I'm filling my company truck up with my gas card. No way I would ever take advantage of this perk and if they ever want to investigate me they can and would never find anything shady on me. I'm sure there's others within my company that do it but in the end it will always come back to bite them in the butt.
