I am giving my two week notice in the morning. More nervous about how the boss man is going to handle it more then anything. It is a very small company. I have been the the owners main go to guy for fifteen years. The other employees I think are pet projects of his. His health has not been to good lately so the timing of this is not going to be good. Wish I could give him a little more time so I could try to train one of the other guys to take care of some of the things I took care of but I now have to give my family business my full attention. Wife can not be on all the jobs we have going, dad is working the out of town jobs and I am killing myself trying to run his business and work ours. I need to be on our jobs yesterday but am not going to just walk out. He is a dear friend and my best hunting buddy and has treated me like a son and I sure hope he weather's this better than I think he will.
Thanks guys for letting me bend your ears. My heart is a little heavy tonight.

Here's hoping he realizes you have a chance to better yourself and pats you on the back thankful for your 15 years.

Just as an Idea if you are just moving to do your family business more you may let him know that after the two weeks you could be a part time consultant to help transition and teach someone new. The state does that some times we call them 120 day employee's.
