In my experience these maps are near useless but I'll admit to pretending they are real to sell myself on snow for the kids. I don't tell the girls because usually it's a false alarm and disappointment in small children is not a good thing..LOL They just never seem close to actual amounts or for that matter an actual snow event.

Considering the forecast for Memphis was nothing like what we got I just always wait and see. Like BP has said before, weatherman is the only gig you can be wrong 50% of the time and still have a job.

Latest forecast for west TN, NWS has bumped up the forecasted totals a touch......

Looks like the wind is going to blow too, with some frigid wind chills.......

Same for SE Tn as well, bumped up to 2"-2-1/2" on the southern end of the Plateau near Chattanooga.

We got back around 9:00 last night and could barely back the truck up our slightly inclined driveway due to the ice. Had a blast at the Parade. It was our kids first Mardi Gras parade and my wife got to ride in it. ...but it was cold even down there 40 degrees and windy. Back to work tonight.

My neighborhood looks like a winter wonderland. This event is far better for taking snow pics when compared to Friday's event.
