Trout stockings to cease on tailwaters....

Stocking non native trout species is highly irresponsible

Then tell ALL the guides and fishermen from NC to stay on the NC side of the border and quit coming over to the South Holston, Wautauga, Holston, Clinch and polluting up the place! Catch all those little dinks in the Smokies you want to.

I am 62 years old and have fished the Clinch River below Norris dam for over 50 of them. The addition of the weir dams made a huge impact on the fishery. The stocking and slot limits have allowed me to not only introduce a second generation but a third generation to fishing and the outdoors. A lot of time and money has gone into making the tail water trout fishing as productive as it is today. Please let us do everything possible to ensure this for future generations.

This is one of the most idiotic posts I've ever seen on this forum, and that's saying something.

I can't tell if you're uneducated or just an idiot in general.

Please help us understand what native game fish would thrive in the 13 miles below Norris Dam since you hate the non natives, and while you're at it please provide details of what species you enjoy catching here in Tenn.

Hey, you're not supposed to call a idiot a idiot on here. ;)

Check out Doskil`s location NC USA. He may have experience fishing the mountain streams but none fishing the tail waters. Not everyone can or will have the opportunity to fish mountain streams. I am fortunate I have and yes it is different from fishing tail waters.Age and health issues now hinder me from fishing the mountain streams. I am fortunate that I have close access to tail water fishing. That being said there is plenty of room for both. I really don`t understand his stance or statement. I would understand if these non native trout were being stocked in the native mountain streams but they are not.

Well the bill that was going to fix this was apparently squashed in the US Senate.

Congress is so dysfunctional right now I don't see anything being done.
