I was going back through the past couple weeks of posts and it became blatantly obvious, that if I'm going to continue going out into the public, I'm going to need to get a tin foil hat. I went online to buy one from a retailer, but they had just posted a notice that tin foil hats were on backorder until 2015 due to the company having to fill an order to a single government agency. I personally think the government wants to keep tin foil hats away from the common Americans. Well, I know nothing about making a tin foil hat and need some advice.
1. Does the thickness of the foil matter? We're going into the summer and I would personally like the foil to be light-weight, kind of like a Mylar material. Do you think this will provide enough protection? If not, should I go with a medium weight foil, like regular Reynolds Wrap? Once fall hits, I'll go with the heavy duty Reynolds Wrap, so I should be covered for the cooler months.
2. Is the knock-off Kroger brand as good as the name brand tin foil? Foil is not that expensive, but I don't want to waste unnecessary money when I don't have to. If the Kroger brand is made with similar qualities as the name brand, I will save a few cents and be able to afford to make some tin foil hats for my pets. They need protection too.
3. Foil comes with a shiny side and a dull side. Which side do I have facing out? Do I have the shiny side facing out to deflect the thought reading rays? Or, do I have the shiny side facing in so my thoughts are reflected back in?
4. Style, the most important decision.
A. Ballcap This is the obvious choice, because my tin foil ballcap would be similar in shape as most others wearing hats. I would blend right in with the rest of society. But, would it provide enough protection? What part of our brains produce thoughts and would a ballcap cover it?
B. Booney cap I think the extra brim on these would provide the extra protection needed, but when I see someone wearing one, my first thought is weirdo. Ive kind of ruled this one out.
C. Fedora Now, that would make one bad*** tin foil hat. The problem with a fedora tin foil hat is that Im a married man, and I dont know how women could keep their hands off me while wearing a fedora tin foil hat.
D. Tilley hat style This is what Im leaning towards. The extra large brim would provide more than adequate protection. The bonus to this hat would be that I could create a little hidden pocket in the top and put a $20 bill in it. Then, if I loose it, whoever finds it can keep the $20 and send me back the hat. I know this concept works, because I once found a Tilley hat in the Little River and mailed it back to the owner. I even gave him his $20 back. You cant buy my honesty.
If anyone has some advice with directions on making a tin foil hat, please help me out.
