When you can put four big meals of crappie fillets in the boat in four hours, I have no use for turkeys. The wind was a tad rough but we had one of the better mornings with not as many short fish.

We caught most on the red/white tube jig but they hit a little of everything. I started out bass fishing but quickly changed when the sac-a-lait started hitting crank baits.

I'll take em over turkey any day. Nother week and they should really turn on. We kept 24 and probaboly threw 12 back. So I reckon it was a good four hours.

Here is how they ended up: With curly Q's, onion and a little left over shrimp gumbo. Salad on the side and sweet tea.

That all looks really delicious. My absolute favorite fish to eat is bluegill fillets caught through the ice.

On that note, I will fish to get outside, but I have yet to actually hunt a turkey(kill yes, hunt no), so thats high on my list, along with hunt a wild hog.
