The bright side of a later turkey opener

I miss a bunch of the best fishing every year chasing turkeys during the first couple weeks of April. Well it's fixed this year and in a weird way I'm happy for it. I'll be able to fish and when I hear a turkey gobble I'll just enjoy it without feeling the need to chase them. Dang turkeys, fish, morels and watching the son play baseball all happens at the same time. There's almost no time to get work done!! Lol

Fishing will always be superior to turkey hunting. I'm just the opposite from you. I feel bad the one weekend a year that I turkey hunt.

just shoot em out of the boat. there is always some flocks of gobblers watering up where i fish.

For me fishing and hunting is all about Meat and Memories. It's a short time that I'm able to get memories and meat from hunting turkeys. I'm really looking forward to real good shallow water fishing.
