Testing coyotes???

Has there been any discussion about testing coyotes for cwd since deer seem to be a large part of their diet?

Maybe not i was just thinking about it because I shoot them every chance I get and normally just leave em where they die but if there was any scientific value in testing them i wouldn't mind dragging em out and dropping em off somewhere

Only Cervids can get CWD. A coyote is not a cervid.

Coyotes (from what I read) can spread it via waste products, they do not contract the disease.

Can't they test their intestinal contents? It would be interesting to know how far the coyotes have spread CWD to other counties. Then they could monitor those counties more to see if the deer start contracting CWD there.
