Tennessee cougars gone, at least for now

It appears that a cougar, or cougars, that took up residence in Middle and West Tennessee a year ago are now gone, according to Joy Sweeney, a wildlife biologist for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

:lol: Sorry , but I’m still going with the first story. They never were here.

It’s all smoke and mirrors. Mountain Lions couldn’t survive here.

The two I’ve personally seen didn’t exist.....

Must have been a flash back from the early 70’s.

I don’t think they have a home ground so to speak, but they are here from time to time.

It’s my understanding even out West they have a large range.

The area being referred to in Wayne Co. contains steep, deep hollows for this part of Tn.

Very rough terrain.

Of the two I’ve seen one was in Wayne Co. in the late 80’s in the Southern part of the county the other one in 2011 or 12 here in Humphreys Co.

The first one I jumped in cut over owned at the time by paper companies.

The second was in one of my Neighbor pastures just up the road from my house.

That one came out of the woods line and layed down in the pastures edge sunning itself.

Bear with me here, (pun intended) but how would they KNOW they were gone?????? UNLESS they were released with tracking chips in them????? Do yall honestly believe that the bears around here that people have been seeing for the last few years just magically showed up??? I don't.
