I'm not much of a fisherman but that's awesome.9 to 9 1/2" crappie![]()
Lol no this is at Garrett lake in west tn.They are shallow! Was that Tims? I cant find a place that shallow in the whole lake!
Why are they all so small. Were they just stocked? There is a twra lake near me that a buddy said is full if 9" crappie because they were just stocked. He thinks next yr they will be keepers.Lol no this is at Garrett lake in west tn.
It's over populated bad.Why are they all so small. Were they just stocked? There is a twra lake near me that a buddy said is full if 9" crappie because they were just stocked. He thinks next yr they will be keepers.
I agree. Just ain't ready to pay that price lolneed to keep a bunch of them regardless what size limit is. Get some them small ones out. And taste good too

No kidding?next year more than likely youll be able to keep all you catch for crappie at garrett. i think the same for lmb under 18". one of the 2024 proposals.
no kiddingNo kidding?
Thank you sir.
I would be fine with a limit but when you have that many 9 1/2" crappie that are thick as a normal 12" crappie that never get any longer can't be a good thing.
i imagine they want the majority of them gone and to align them with some of the other twra lakes. it seems like they are managing some twra lakes more for bass and indirectly bluegill. i also noticed where they placed an 8" length limit on bluegill on a couple of lakes, which is probably a wise move. some of these lakes have been hammered over the years and has created mediocre bluegill populations. williamsport lakes come to mind.I would be fine with a limit but when you have that many 9 1/2" crappie that are thick as a normal 12" crappie that never get any longer can't be a good thing.
Gotta admit I'm gonna clean a LOT of crappie if this passes.![]()
