I like to be high but I hate climbing trees. I was considering buying another summit but I'm reconsidering. Regular ladder stands just aren't tall enough to suit me. And I hate lock ons. I am thinking about selling off all my ladder stands and buying 6 or 8 of these. Anyone tried them?

Being it's the double rail I'd feel safe at 25' out of one. Good buy.

I bet they aren't much fun to put up!

After reading all the reviews it appears the quality is seriously lacking. Think I'll look for a better quality tall stand.

Worst ladder stand I've put up are a 22' Summit with a trap door. Really comfortable but putting the 2 up a buddy has was terrible.

Thanks for mentioning. I will check these out. 22 is tall enough.

Buy a life line for each one and wear your harness, I have used one of those and wondered why the owner didn't have one, he wondered why I wore a harness in a perfectly safe ladder stand, I hope he never needs one and doesn't have it, he thinks I'm silly, it's a long way down. :tu:

Check out the field&stream outpost xl at ****’s. It’s 17ft and I’m pretty sure you can buy an extension. These are some of the most well built stands I’ve seen. After having an ol Man ladder fall with me I’m aware of the dangers of ladder stands.

I have a 21 ft from Sportsman Guide that is comfortable. It has double rails and flip up seat with a foot rest. It was a booger to put up though!

I've got a couple of regular 15' ladder stands from Sportsman's Guide as well, but the brand was Big Dog, and they are well built, unlike the Sportsman's Guide version. The Big Dog has a double contact bite at the seat against the tree, very stable.

These are the same ones that I have, 17 ' is high enough for me.

Had a buddy that had like a 22 foot ladderstand.
I hated climbing that thing.
Felt alot safer in my summit climber.

If memory serves me correctly this one was 21’ to the seat.

I think it was a F & S from Dicks sporting goods .

Rated for 300 lb. Being 285 without hunting gear I beefed the bracing up some.

I didn’t want to be a Field & Stream test weight! LOL

Iirc the weight limit is 500lb for the Big Dog stands.

I can send you a pic of my fractured ankle. This happened from 15’. I’m going lower from now on.
