I haven't tried them yet but was sold by the youtube video, really like how they double into straps to pack in/out

Looks like the straps would help a lot, just don't like the idea have having 2 more buckles to clank around.

I hear ya. The only time they can though, is when putting the stand on the tree.

Just temporarily clip the jaws of the strap buckles to the arm rest pads when you start to put the stand on the tree. No problem.
