I just got back from the Talladega NF in AL. It was a very fun a rewarding hunt. Since this was a DIY public land hunt, I thought it would make a good blog entry.

By no means is this a "how to turkey hunt" post, but more of my experience hunting these tough elusive birds. Hopefully a couple of you will read it and motivate you to go and check out this cool forest and take advantage of the early opener. I am free to answering any questions about the public land access as well if you are interested in going.

That was a great read. Them turkeys down there are very tough. A public land jake in AL is probably harder than the long beards.
