They have been gobbling and strutting all over the west side. I've noticed most have given up already. I tagged out early but have been taking people.

Man, weather looking great for this weekend... lows in low 60s, highs in high 70s, low 80s.
I hunted in Miss early April with temps higher than that.

It must be over because I've lost interest. Between the thick undergrowth, skeeters and snakes, you can have it. I got the crappie boat out today and shooting in a match this weekend. Imo, the state knew people wouldn't be hunting in late may. It should have been closed two weeks ago.
Saw one strutting with a hen today in Anderson County.

Turkey Schmurkey, that's what I say. I'm over it for this year.
Hiked in the Smokies last Friday. Got to Rainbow Falls trailhead about 9:30 and one was gobbling his fool head off. He was close but never saw him.
Just depends on where you are , public/private, # of birds, Pressure, Lots of factors. I went to a small piece of private I can hunt this morning but rarely do. Heard 10 on the juvenile hunt(some in the distance). Heard 1 gobble 3 times this morning. Gonna try it again in the morning, you never know what the mood will be with these crazy, fickle gobblers. I am in to the end!

Heard some gobbling this am while I was fishing! Saw a group of a couple long beards strutting around with some hens
One of our guys killed one this morning that was gobbling good. Said he heard another as well. Wayne Co.
ain't that the truth. It is pretty much over and has been on public for a couple of weeks. I am sure there is one out there somewhere gobbling, but there were multiple birds gobbling early on and now it is just silent.

Sitting in the porch waiting for a call from the nurse concerning my son's tonsil surgery from yesterday and one is hammering the woods down about 200 yards away. Love that sound!!!
