Spiral cut ham

Every Christmas my employer gives everyone a turkey or a ham.
I opt for the ham, just because I like them.
Normally just mix up the coating provided with the ham and cook per instructions.
This year (yesterday) we decided to play around with it a bit.
We made up a mixture with sorghum and some kind of mustard.
Drizzled the mixture in between the slices and then all over the outside of the ham.
Threw it in the oven, lightly covered with aluminum foil and cooked it about 3 hours.
Turned out really good.
Guess that's what I will be having for lunch for about a week.

We did one with just molasses. Then another one with molasses and garlic.

I swear I can barely tell the difference. We can go through a lot of ham at my place. I like it fried with a crust...slapped between bread and nothing else.

Yep, we had one of them high dollar honey baked hams at Christmas at a relatives house.
This one was alot better!
I am sure it was alot cheaper too.

Any time mustard is applied to anything it completely ruins a meal. I feel sorry for the ham.

we like those hams also but since my wife has to watch her sugar we don't buy them much. some of them are pre-cooked and already have a high sugar level in the meat before the coating packet is added to them.

I just don't like spiral cut ham. They're alright if the entire thing is consumed in 1 meal but otherwise they dry out too quickly as leftovers.

I think my kids would eat a water buffalo if it was in the fridge cooked and ready to be eaten.

I fried up some of the best chicken of my chicken-frying career last night and this AM one piece is left. Wife Son Daughter chomped on it like it was candy.

my Son made a triple decker ham sammich from the last ham we had and what seemed like the next day there was just this poor lonely miserable bone in the fridge.

We did the same thing this Christmas. But we used brown mustard, molasses and brown sugar and smoked the ham on the smoker. It was a hit.
