I watched, "Fallen", on Netflix the other day and came across some numbers.

After Sept 11, 2001 we went to war in Afghanistan to get al-Qaeda. From the start of that war until 2014 when Obama "officially" declared an end of the war 1,832 American soldiers died over there.

In that very same period of time 2,181 Police Officers lost their lives in the line of duty while on the job. Not in some war torn third world country but right here in OUR country. This happened right here in our country, our states, our cities, in our streets, our neighbors and our very homes.

I'll add something to those numbers.

The number of US soldiers killed in Afghanistan in 2016 was 14

The number of Police Officers killed in the line of duty in the United States in 2016 was 148.

Ever noticed what these particular U.S. cities tend to have in common?

High population densities of people living below the poverty level

Pretty much the common factor in all large cities with high crime rates across the globe

Why?
Are these high population densities of people unable to do better economically?

Certainly all U.S. cities do not have high population densities of people living below the poverty level?
Why just the ones with the high murder rates?

And Liberals are running those cities.

What would be the republican solution that wouldn't get more police officers killed?

Pretty much all large cities have areas you don't want to go walking into at night. Here is something you can do that will get your heart beating. Next time you are in Nashville (when its warm), go take a walk thru centennial park at 9pm and leave your carry at home. Don't just hang out at the Parthenon. There are too many lights there. Walk some of the less lit streets. They probably won't hurt you but they will mess with you. Just stay calm and don't freak out. Its a rush.

believe it or not a young man under the age of 25 has a less likely chance of getting killed in the 75th Regiment, airborne battalions or SF groups over the last 15 years than being a civilian.

unintentional death rate at that age group is right at 6% for civilians. the accepted casualty/death rate for an airborne assault was 1-2%, (no idea what it is now). for the 10 year period in iraq/afghanistan the 75th had almost 500 casualties with about 30 deaths. divide that with a little over 3000 soldiers and that is about 1% death rate.

as for police mortality rates, that has to do with a society that teaches its children its ok to defy law and order or to kill cops and then promoted by the media.

Uhhhh jim, does your wife know you’ve done that? :rotf: :rotf: I knew you were all for same sex marriage and all but deeeaaammmnnn.... The only reason reason any man alone is in that park at night is for man on man
“Get togethers”. That would probably explain the looks or attention you’ve received while not being messed with but I’m sure you know that. :rotf: Or there may still be some high school punks in there practicing some illegal acts refered to as gay bashing. Hope they aren’t the ones you’ve had problems with. Lol
I think the posters above were talkin about more serious threats than getting hit on by queers and probably ain’t lookin for that “rush” Bwahahaaaa

Of course I’m just having some fun with you jimbo. :poke:
