I have a similar setup (mine is a Marlin), if you look at the bipod, the rail attachment piece may be able to be removed so you can attach it to the front sling stud. That is how mine is attached.
I was thinking that might be the case. I never really fooled with the bipod. I'll check it out though. Thanks for the info
I've got the synthetic one with bull barrel and it's a tack driver.

I have this gun in stainless, and it's one of my favorite guns of all time. So accurate and fun to shoot. It makes squirrel hunting almost unfair. Teaching my little fella to hunt squirrel, I have put a bullet an inch beside a squirrel to make him move to the opposite side of the tree for my boy to get a shot at him.
