Where is the best place to get it done? With how much lime is needed?

We had done a soil test a few months ago . We went to the local UT extension office in our county which was Decatur. The Ut extension office will tell you how to take it , provide the boxes for the sample and even the special tool that you can borrow from them . They were awesome !! Sent the samples to Nashville by usps and got back results in about 10 days . Want to say each sample was like 10-15 dollars a box You can put multiple samples from one area in a box . I was also told that your local county co op also provides the same service

I followed the directions on my test this fall...... the deer couldn't keep it eat down!
i typically run out of food in my plot by end of ML.... it's still going strong!

Co-Op is expensive!!
They hit me up for $32 for a single test.
I'll be using a local feed supply store, I think it was under $10.

I've always used "A&L Laboratories" on Whitten Road in Memphis, which has been bought out by Waypoint Analytical. If you notice, their street address is the same one listed on the "Biologic Labs" link others have suggested. In short, Biologic does not own a lab, they just subcontract their work to A&L/Waypoint.

A&L/Waypoint has always been top notch, emailing my results in just a few days. Call the Memphis office if you have questions, they have always been great to work with.

Normal soil test for fertilizer/lime through CO-OP, who then sends it to Waypoint Analytical is about $11-12 for each test/package. There are other tests they can do which can increase the cost. Also each sample is one charge.

SM-1 test will cover lime/fertilizer needs.

I did one through Whitetail Institute, something like 6$ for the kit and then postage to send the soil in. got the results in 24 hours of them receiving.
