Prefer to paddle? Seems like recent threads reveal that there are several paddlers on here. I love the solitude and simplicity of a non-mechanical boat! My ride is a Old Town "Guide 147" (canoe).

I had a Lincoln 16 foot canoe when I moved down here from Michigan, and used it a few times each summer, until a friend really drooled over it and I let him have it for a song. Bought a Ocean Kayaks Drifter in '06 and enjoy it a lot. The seat gets a little sore after 8 hours in it!

Back in 1957 when I was stationed at NC State college, in the military, we did not have any money left from one week to the next.

The wife use to paddle me around while I fly fished, did not have money to buy a troliing moter. I did learn how to skull and use the flyrod with either hand.

Those were the good times.
