The Southeast Deer Study Group is currently holding it's annual meeting. I found out about it via twitter by following the QDMA. If you are on twitter check out #SEDSG.

A few of the more interesting results to me include:

*Adult bucks (2.5+) traveled 55 yards further away from hunting stands on average at the end of the season vs. the beginning.

*Researches saw clear evidence of bucks reacting negatively to hunting pressure but equally for young and old bucks. (it's unclear the ages included in categories young and old).

Wish I could have made it this year. I really enjoy those meetings.

Just based on my anecdotal observations, I would have said it was closer to 100 yards, but certainly just far enough that they generally go undetected by the human hunters.
