Smokeless School me

I know I'm jumping the gun but the bug has hit. I've been talked out of the scout and will probably get a cva hunter to make my build. Would some one care to school me on sabot vs sabotless. Veggie wad vs wool vs synthetic. What are some realistic velocities I should expect to see. I don't think I wanna do duplex loads unless there's just a huge advantage. I've looked at dougs and found some info but from what I've read powder used dictates bullet weights and velocities. Which makes sense as I reload. At this point my plan is to use the 195 gr Barnes. Would like to push them fairly fast but I've seen people blowing sabots. Just looking for a direction to go and a goal to aim for. Wouldn't mind stocking up on a few supplies in the mean time either.

Most guys like 4198 and its easily good for 2500fps but i like N120. Its cleaner and 58gr will get you over 2500fps 200gr sabotted without even cracking a sweat. Real light amount of N110, 5744 and 4759 should all easily break 2200fps but they can be rough on sabots. Around 34gr is max with N110 before sabots start to shred because peak pressure comes on fast. Its not too high it just happens really fast.

4198 really shines if you want to shoot the "default" load.....55-60gr and a 275gr BE shoots great in lots of conversions. Roughly good for around 2400fps or a tad more but i would not go much higher than 60gr with a 275gr in a break action.

I would go with the scout first off. Better trigger and stainless. Compared to the hunter.

My scout v2 loves 60gr of h4198, 200gr sst and a hlb sabot. One ragged hole at 100 and a little under 2" at 200. Drops 6.5" at 200 dead on at 100.
