Should I throw away my scent killing products from the last couple of years and buy new?

Not hardly, at least if they are only a yr or 2 old, as they will work as well as this yrs! I buy mine on closeout at seasons end each yr for the following yr and have had zero problems.

If they're still sealed and unopened I keep'em. They can go bad in a few weeks or so after they are opened.
