Scanning trees

Does anyone ever use their metal detector on trees? I guess you wouldn't want to chop a tree down to find a relic, but you would think that you could find some old bullets in trees. Maybe you could scan dead trees. I don't know, just a thought.
 
I'm not sure, but I doubt most bullets are hard enough to mess up a sawmill blade. Maybe though. I know though that a magnet will not detect a bullet unless it has a steel core, and most don't. It sure won't detect lead or copper. Now a metal detector will.
