I'm trying to work a deal on a ~2008 12 ga. model Red Label...right before they went into hiatus. Of course they're back as of this year. I knew nothing about these shotguns until this opportunity came about. I'm crossing my fingers and hope it works out.

Anybody shoot one?

if I could pic a free Win 101 or the Redlabel it would be hard decision,,I am a rifle guy but those two shotguns are my favorites,,even though I dont own either presently

I have seen many issues with the Ruger on a skeet range and none with the 101, mainly because of the number of rounds put through the gun

I had a late 1990's Red Label in 20 ga. I shot it a fair amount (skeet, sporting clays) before I sold it. I really tried to like the gun but it just didn't fit me right. I loved the looks of it, and it was very well made. Probably put 3000 or so rounds through it before I sold it. It actually took about 500 rounds to loosen the action up, as it was pretty stiff.
I'm sure that it wouldn't hold up to the number of rounds my Beretta 682 sporting clays gun will, but if it seems to fit you well and you don't plan on shooting 20,000 rounds a year through it, I bet it would give you good service for a number of years.
