Rubber bands for mechanical broadheads

I get about 4-5 shots, if I am lucky, when sighting my bow with my broadheads before the rubber band breaks and has to be replaced. Anybody have an easy fix to this problem? Would a thicker o-ring still work??

Was watching a HUSH video last night on youtube and as he was walking to his ground blind the rubberband must have broken on his Broadhead he showed a little trick that someone showed him about keeping a spare one up by the fletching on the shaft that way if you break one you can just roll a new one down.
