there was a question about barrel length over in the classifieds about a Remington 1100 magnum being a 27" full choke. someone posted they thought Remington barrels were as follows 26=ic, 28=mod and 30=full.
more than likely a 27" barrel marked full on a magnum was probably cut from either a 30" or 28" barrel.
but his I a little history on barrel lengths on Remington 1100s. basically in 12,16 or 20 gauges. 25=skeet, 26=ic, 28=mod or full and 30=full, BUT in the first 5 years of productions from about 1963-1968 Remington did produce some 26" full and modified barrels and they choke as such.
in 1969 the 410 and 28ga was added to the line up and in those 25'= skeet, ic, mod and full. they were only make in 25" barrels until Remington came out with the sporting model several years back and they are 27" with screw in chokes.
I posted this here because I don't have enough posts to post in the classifieds. but yes I would say the magnum barrel of 27" was more than likely cut down, because Remington didn't do a 27" until the sporting models and I don't think they produced any magnums in those first five years (but I could be wrong on that).
