A buddy has a broken saltwater Shimano baitcaster. Where can he get it cleaned and repaired near Nashville? Thanks.

I vaguely remember having seen Jim Monroe in Fly South working on baitcasters once or twice. You might want to ask him if he can do it.

If that doesn't work, there used to be a place in Tullahoma called Ickey's Rod and Reel Repair, though Tullahoma is not exactly "near Nashville" and I'm not sure if they're still in business.

Beyond that, your friend might have to see if he can ship it back to Shimano.

I don't know if they are still in business but there was a place in Hermitage called Fisherman's Blessing LLC. I had work done there a few years back and they did a good job. They also do rod repair.

I know some spots, no mid-staters, however.

I picked up this card at Memphis boat show...Sportsman Outdoor Services, reel cleaning and repairs, wrappings and custom-made rods. (901) 490-9683. That's a West Tennessee area code, by the way.

Didn't Bass Pro used to offer service, via mail? Or do they offer it at their other sites as well?
