If you had never see the original, you would sayit is a good movie. However, I agree with poser in that it lacks a lot the original had to offer.

remakes are rarely as good as the original. there are no original ideas any more. everything is a rehash of past movies/tv shows.

I just don't understand.

If they are going to change the story, why not just give it a different name? Why not let it stand alone?

Or...was the story so bad that it couldn't stand on it's own and had to ride to name recognition of an American Classic?

If you have netflix, you should also watch Tomorrow When the War Began. I believe that's the name anyway. It's the Aussie version of Red Dawn. It was good also and reminded me more of the original Red Dwn than the remake. I think it may have been Crappie that recommended it to me.

Yea, that is an awesome movie!!! I think it's a triology but the other two stories have not been made into movies yet.

Now I'm not going to waste my money on the new Red Dawn.

Argo was a good movie. I lived though that time and Carter was the I moved to the Republicans for good. There is no political part in the movie except trying to get them free by a certain time to score points but like I said I lived though the whole thing.
