I use the same shot size I would in 12 gauge, just know you aren't throwing as many pellets. I shoot 2's most of the time.

3 inch 2 shot. Got a buddy who only hunts with a 20. He smokes with 5 shot.

Sub-gauges don't pattern larger shot as well as the 10 and 12 gauge. The smaller you can responsibly go at the ranges you'll be shooting, the better the pattern.

Anyone use a 20 gauge for duck or geese?

If so what size shot
Several people duplex TSS and steel in a 20 gauge. The mixture of shot is solely to keep the cost down. For around $38 a box you can and get better than 10 gauge results. 3/8 oz of TSS 9's & 1/2 oz of Steel 1's is equivalent to shooting 1 7/8 of Steel 1's.

Approximately 187 pellets that will kill at 50+ out of a soft shooting 7/8 oz. load is quite alluring.

Nothing makes you pick your shot and concentrate more than duck hunting with regular TSS. Eats up a $100 bill real fast.
Remington making a 20 gauge 3 inch 1 1/8 Oz tungsten blend now but still....$5 a shot.
