Is a 6.8 spc and a 6.8 spc II the same caliber?

Anyone shoot one?

Thoughts?

I would like a reasonable priced one in 16"

SPC chambers are similar to the difference in .223 vs 5.56 chambers. Any barrel of recent manufacture will be SPC II spec and capable of shooting either ammo. The difference is extremely negligible, in fact case dimensions are the same, SPC II chambers are just designed for higher pressures.... theoretically

I own two, one in 16" I hunt with and one 20-3/4 I have fun with

Best cartridge for deer available in the AR platform IMO, that's why I built them

SPC2 like .223 Wylde has a longer throated barrel, to lower pressure, the leade to the lands is longer in both, if you have the choice pick SPC2, or look else where. :tu:
