Priceline Orbitz?

I am trying to book our trip to Colorado snow skiing. I went on Orbitz and checked out the package deal flight car and hotel. Then I went back to Orbitz , And just checked on the flight by self, the Hotel by itself, and the rental car by itself.. now here's the crazy thing, if I get the package deal which is supposed to be cheaper, it actually is going to cost $1380.00 more than if I purchase them separately.... all through Orbitz... this makes no sense ..

Their advertising gets people to believe they are the least expensive option. I have found 95% of the time if you book the airlines, hotels, rental cars etc yourself you come out saving money.

I travel all the time. NEVER use Orbitz.
