Poults Not Seen!

I've seen quite afew around here I saw 4 hens with about 20 afew weeks ago

Morgan County checking in... at my place I've had 6 hens and 3 have had poults with them this year (~7 poults total). The poults all made it to full feathers/flying. They've been scarce this past week and I'm hoping it isn't from the yote pups (one on Sunday and one on Monday) I noticed creeping around the edge of my clearing. Both were during daylight hours and they bailed soon as they saw me.

I've got boat loads of them running around the property. These are really the first to come near the homestead clearing. But the absence of the hens/poults means if I get a shot on them I will. Both encounters were over in 2 secs. They saw me and dashed into the woods pronto. Haven't seen any since (yotes or turkeys). But now I'm watching closer.

Wife and I headed to the lake this morning and got to the end of our street and there were 2 hens and what looked to be 6-7 poults that were half the size of the hens. Fence row grown up so didn't get the best look.

Is anyone still getting pics of poults? Mine has moved on but I am still getting a group of 6 jakes that work through the area every couple of days.

Saw 2 hens with 12 poults yesterday

Yesterday we seen about 5-6 hens with at least 3 different groups of poults ranging from pretty good size down to a few newly hatched ones. Totaled about 20 birds all together. DeKalb Co

Just passed a gaggle of them in Davidson Co. 4 hens with at least 20 poults with them!!

Two hens frequent my back yard. They had 5 poults with them that were CHICKEN size.

I'm beginning to think maybe the over-population of predators is the problem.

That's what I think the reason is as well.
