Saw hens with between 5 to 8 poults each the last 3 days in three locations. Most I've seen in a long time.
How big were the poults?
They all were abut half the size of the hens.

The ones I saw were about 1/2 the size of the hens as well. Saw some more this weekend that were a little smaller than 1/2 size.

All the poults I've seen were age appropriate for a 1st clutch hatch (end of May/ first of June). I have not seen any little poults indicating successful 2nd or 3rd nests or jennies being successful in actually hatching.

Looks like they came out of the woodwork while I was up there for juvie hunt. It is hard to tell the jennies from the hens at this point, but I saw at least 250 different birds including 18 gobblers scattered on the farms. Most I've ever seen on these properties. Must have had a great hatch.

My largest farm that used to have the most birds actually had a small flock of 6 on it. Hopefully they start making a comeback there.
