All my plots are burned down with round up and I'm wondering if I should plant this weekend or not with no rain in the near future. I will be using a no till drill and planting in pretty heavy thatch so soil moisture should be good and hold moisture well. What do you guys think ?

With a drill, I think you'll be ok. Might set it a little deeper to find the moisture.

My worry is the dry air we will have for the next 10 days. Warm, dry air can suck a lot of moisture out of the ground.

Looks like some will get a brief shower this afternoon as a cold front moves through. But I wouldn't expect much out of this line of showers.

My schedule forced me to seed yesterday evening and hope for the best. My area is looking like it might receive a little more rainfall than some other places around. Fingers crossed...

I'm in east Tennessee and no rain in sight. They say there is a possibility next Thursday but that far out they really have no clue. I'm think doing no till and having a heavy Thatch layer should be able to have and hold enough moisture to germinate, hopefully a shower will come along sometime next week

Unquestionably, a heavy thatch is going to greatly decrease soil moisture evaporation.

Got a tiny amount of rain last night at my place. If this seed doesn't take, or more likely, the turkeys eat it all, I'll be overseeding with rye at the end of this month

September is such a tough month to forecast. It is normally our driest month as large chunks of drier Canadian air starts filtering this far south. However, most September rains are tropical system in nature, the path of which are extremely difficult to forecast more than a few days out.
