I think next year I am going to plant every unshootable part of my hunting plots in either corn or kenaf. The only reason I dont plant more corn is because you cant see through it well enough to get a shot. I would think it would be the same with kenaf. I think both of these would make a great staging area.
I also am planning on cornering off some big fallow fields by planting a circle fourty yards out from my stand with two rows of corn and planting the inside with something for early season.
Looks like im going to have some crazy looking plots this year.

We are gonna make another 5 acre "select-cut", maybe 2 of them....strictly for cover...and all the firewood we can handle for the wood stoves :)

As far as planting, I think we are gonna leave all of our stands of established clover, then maybe plant some corn in various spots

Probably end up planting some more fruit trees and Chinese Chestnut trees

I like planting about 4 rows of corn down the center of any kind of plot and letting edges or entire halves of larger fields grow up in briers, etc. The deer seem to use the corn as an edge, and they love, the extra cover.
