Yes they are I have a bunch in the freezer. I have a buddy who shot 500 in one trip lol. He eats a lot of them and gives more to someone who has raptors to feed.

I'm not sure if a human can eat them. They can spread infections and diseases. Anyway, if you already ate them and you are still alive then it's okay.

You can definitely eat pigeon. If you want to sound classy, just call it "squab." Most animals carry some kind of virus/bacteria/parasite but if you handle them properly the risk is negligible.

Funny how that idea is prevalent in the US but go to Europe and pigeons are served in high end restaurants. Pigeons (domestic rock doves) are in the same family as mourning doves which people eat without a thought. if someone doesn't care for the taste I understand but they are eaten every day and have been for centuries .
