Peep sight for Henry

Anyone put a peep sight on a Henry H001. I am trying to find one that I know will work with it. Skinner makes some but I don't want to deal with having the receiver cover drilled and tapped. Williams makes some models that just fit onto the dovetail which would be nice. However, I don't know which ones will work for sure. I am afraid some, or all of them, may be too tall. My rifle shot high with the factory sights with my rear sight lowered all the way down. That's seems to be a common problem. They sent me a 22 magnum front sight and that solved that issue. I have tried searching online for an answer but there isn't much info about it that I can find.

I've spent the better part of a morning looking for one for my Henry H001 and have come to the conclusion that if I want something that looks good, I'll have to get it drilled and tapped. As soon as squirrel season is over, I'll probably just send mine to Skinner and have them do it with hopes that they'll check the elevation with the front sight also.

I bought a CZ that had a Williams sight on that I replaced with an Redfield Olympic sight. I put that Williams in the Henry but it's an H001T , it is adjusted all the way down and is dead on with most ammo at 40 yards. The front sight could be a little taller but it works great for my use

I did remove the factory rear sight

In case anyone is still looking, I found a peep that will work with "MY" h001. I say my h001 because as stated in the op, mine had to have a 22 magnum front sight and this sight has to be pretty much as low as it can go to work. I finally found some reviews where people said this worked with theirs. Apparently williams makes a "high" and a "low" version of this sight. This is the low version and Midwayusa is the only place I could find one. I added the Teflon washers under the screws because they were longer than they needed to be and would have ran down and hit the receiver if screwed in all the way.

If I ever buy another one, at least if it's for a gun that's not such a pain to find something that works, I will make sure to get one that has micro adjust on the windage as well. With this one you have to loosen two screws and just slide the peep left or right. Even though it has graduation marks, it is really hard to make fine adjustments.
