Several years ago I decided I would get a detector and had about $1000 budget. I bought a White's Spectrum XLT. I've found a few old pennies that the ground had almost eaten up, lots of pull tabs and scrap. I didn't spend a whole lot of time detecting but did go about a dozen times for half day over about 2 years.

I guess what I'm asking is did I get a decent detector for the money then and/or could I trade/sell this one and get a better machine now with little or no out of pocket expense.
