I broke down and got my 721 remington outta the lay away and yanked the weaver tip over rings off it because Im gonna go open sighted for a change and Im gonna leave the old beat up wood stock on it to keep the old school deer rifle look goin.

Anyway, what big heavy bullets were popular way back in the day of huntin? Im thinkin about loading some 200-220gr RN bullets for thrashing around in the mountains.

Don't forget these Original Win.Silver Tip,Power Points,Remington Core Locks and Bronze Points,.

Oh and Find you a Red or Green Plaid Outfit. :D

Hey don't make fun of that red and green plaid, I used to have the red, years ago. :D If you get a heavy wool one, they are still a real warm hunting coat. Man, I'm just getting too old.

Wasn't makeing fun of the old plaid stuff have wore my Dads and Grandpas Pendington (SP) outfits when I first started out a time or two, right up to mom got me that nice navy blue ski suit. :D

Just kidding around with 444 any hunter ought to wear it at least once. ;)

I used to see 180 grain round nose all the time when I was a teen. The only guy I knew who deer hunted used a 742 Woodsmaster and he kept the clip on the dash of his truck. He used a 243 for years, and finally had it bite him, said you couldn`t shoot through a "vine" with it. Broke down and bought a new 742 Woodsmaster in 30/06.

That old school camo is good stuff. The last two years I've worn a heavy wool jacket that's a large brown and white plaid just like the old patterns. I guess you'd call it a more modern camo version. I bought it at a garage sale in Iowa back twenty years ago so it's been around a while. 444, I'm afraid going old school with sights wouldn't work with me. When I draw a bead nowadays I say "What Bead." Enjoy those young eyes.
