Odds this deer will survive the winter(wounded)

Yeah, that spot on his back is hard to ignore since it's in the same spot as the injury last year. Not totally conclusive as another buck could have an injury in the same spot but the odds are in favor of this being the same buck.

Lots of bucks get spots in there backs like those. Can be from working licking branches and horns hitting their back, crossing under barbed wire fence, etc... Where we used to hunt in MO just about all bucks had a bald spot on their back in the same area.

I agree that it could just be a coincidence but the fact that he has the 10pt gene, even though only has 4 on one side this year, same area as last years wounded buck and the spot makes me think it's him. Definitely different type rack thank last with long times and narrow rack.
