I was noticing on the web that Oak Ridge has an upcoming 600 yard highpower match for July 28. Have any of you folks attended one of these and are they open to the public to observe? I would like to go to one and just see what goes on. If any of you are going I would appreciate a heads up on what is necessary to go. I don't want to shoot, only observe for now. Maybe someday.....I might see an excuse for a new rifle.

Never been to one.
I think they are open to the public to view but I ain't sure on it. Try checking the website for the Highpower Progarms contact info, as I don't have my club newsletter handy.

I am about 98% sure they ae open to the public... i will try to pull my newsletter when I get home and get the number for the guy over that....

Thanks, I looked at the sites and the rules and never really did see it addressed either. I've been to the Oak Ridge ranges a couple of times before. I guess I'll just have to mosey up that way that morning. All they can say is you can't come in. In that case I'll go on to the shops in Oak Ridge. I lived there a few years back and know my way around.

Here's the scoop...
You have a 600 yard match coming up on July 28th. I am curious if the public can enter to watch that match. If so is there a fee?
Thanks,
Dave

The main gates are locked open for the match and anyone who wants to watch is welcome to come and watch and there are no fees to watch. Shooting starts at 9am and depending upon the number of competitors, the match will usually conclude by mid-afternoon.

What a guy. Thanks. I may try to get up there for the shoot. My wife says she'd like to go also. I may need to buy a couple of pairs of electronic ear muffs so she and I can hear what is going on. I've only got the regular noise supressor type.
