No till garden

Got the idea here several years ago. My garden hasn't been tilled in 5 years.

Just mowed my winter cover crop yesterday. Had broadleaf mustards on the right side, excellent stand, almost no weed competition.

Purple top turnips on the left side, terrible stand from poor germination seed. Tons of weed competition over the winter.

I'll burndown the whole garden with gly in a couple weeks, then drill my summer garden and hand set tomatoes.

No till is the way to do it. Drove my neighbor crazy for years but he'd have 5' tall pigweed and 4' corn and I had no pigweed at all.

My garden beds are no till and same as organic but I have not been able to pull it off with my in ground garden areas so I till to incorporate green manure and battle weeds so I use no chemicals in my food sources.
