Nikon BDC or Burris Fullfield II

I've got a couple of the fullfield II's. I use them on stuff that optics aren't as important, such as my muzzleloader.

Mine's got the ballistic plex reticle, and it's awesome on my ML... 120gr loose 777, 300gr SST. Zeroed in at 100, 1st peg down for 125, 2nd peg for 150, 3rd peg for 200 at 9x. Works like a charm.

Is it the best scope out there? Heck no... but I can pick them up for around $135 in used, but like new condition, and for that price, they're hard to beat.

Burris fullfield II is an awesome scope for the money, its tough, clearer than my leupold vx3 scope and handles my 300 wsm great.

While I like my burris for what it is, my 2 are nowhere as clear as the 3 vxIII's I've used. If your leupold is not as clear as the burris, it needs to go back to the factory as something is wrong. Now I have seen a few leupolds in my time which were junk. My cousin had a varixIII 6-20x40mm which was very cloudy. He tried to use it for a year, but ended up having to get rid of it because of the poor optical quality. I kept telling him to just send it back to the factory, they will make things right.

I have Leupold Vari-X IIIs, Vari-X II, MKIV LR/T, Burris FFII and Burris Compact, and Nikon Monarchs. The Burris isn't even close to the Leupold in clarity and it doesn't hold a candle to the Nikons either. B/t the Nikon or the Burris, I'd take Nikon any day of the week as I feel you get better quality/clarity. Burris isn't the optics company that the others are. I'd place it closer to the Bushnell Trophy line which I have one of those too. While not a bad scope, it's nothing that the other's aren't. If I had to rank my scopes, it would be:

1) Leupold MKIV
2) Leupold Vari-X IIIs (or Nikon Monarchs)
3) Leupold Vari-X II
4) Burris FFII
5) Bushnell Trophy
6) Burris Compact (fuzzy around edges)

Don't think I'll ever purchase another Burris due to have the FFII not hold its settings. Sent it back and now it works fine. However, never had any problems on other scopes. That's my $.02.
