If you had $1700.00 to spend on a new rifle WHAT would buy... and from whom, scope not be included... I am looking at a Sako 270. This is a Load question?????? :drool: :drool: :drool: :drool: :drool:

"And who from scope not be included..." Not sure what that means. If your talking about just a rifle, maybe the Nosler 48 Liberty rifle. If $1700 for both rifle and scope. Then I'd probably spend about $700 to $800 on the rifle and $900 to a grand on the glass. Probably either a newer FN model Winchester m70 if you can find one or a tikka, both close to $700 to $800 give or take a little. Plenty of good scopes with what's left over. Sako's are nice rifles with super slick actions, but Sako makes tikka rifles. Tikka's have nice slick actions too and great triggers. I have a FN barreled Winchester m70 that is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned, easily does sub moa if I do my part, and has one of the best factory triggers I've ever felt.

I'd build one on a 700. Probably a heavy Shilen in 6.5-284 and I'd have it in an McMillan a3.

I have a nosler in 7mm08 I'm thinking about selling

I have Nosler M48 in 26 Nosler. It is shooting a 129 gr long range accubond pretty fast. A 140 accubond or 142 long range accubond are right at 3600 fps.

I would keep an eye out and get something used. On another classifieds forum, there was a Gordy Gritters custom 7mm-08 built on a 700 action with a Lilja barrel. Last I looked it was around $1500 which is probably at least a $1000 loss for the person selling it. Gordy's bench rest rifles usually start at around $5K using a stiller or BAT action.

You mentioned Sako... I'm a fan. I bought a Finnlight last year and love it. It's pretty much the ideal rifle for my taste.
