Been devouring their videos the past couple weeks. They are from PA and have some awesome footage. Including a few recurve deer shots under 5 yards, as well as compound, muzzleloader, rifle deer hunting, turkey hunting, trapping, goose hunting, bow fishing, morel picking....

Leatherwood Outdoors

I am not affiliated with em in any way, just happen to be a big fan of their videos since discovering them 2 or 3 weeks ago.

They got a second channel called Leatherwoodoutdoors2 that also has some good stuff

Hey catman, I stumbled on your videos on youtube and loved the heck out of them.
What kind of camera/set up do you use for your hunts? I wouldnt mind trying to start filming a few of mine.

thanks. Just using a point and shoot camera (sometimes iPhone camera) but my main one is a Lumix fx75. It takes HD video and very good pics for a point and shoot camera. And is pocket size but I keep it in a case around my neck to keep dirt from getting in the lens.

It's tough getting a good kill shot on video. Seems easy till you try it. I haven't quite got the perfect shot yet but I try and set up the camera every time.

You do a great job, keep up the good work. I've enjoyed alot of your videos. I may even give mushroom hunting a try, with the information from your videos.

I also started watching Leatherwoods videos, they do a good job. Those boys hunt and eat everything, LOL.

I have grandparents up in PA. Not sure if they're anywhere near the LWO guys but if I'm up there visiting I'd love to meet them sometime. They have great videos.

Good luck mushroom hunting. I can't wait to find the first morel, probably only a couple weeks now.

I'm definatly gonna give it a shot filmimg some of my hunts. I've always been curious about it but not serious. But after seeing your stuff it'd be nice to have it all on camera.

Do you sit any higher up in a tree to be able to manevour your camera with out being seen?

nope I sit where I usually would whether that's on the ground or 50 ft in a tree. Getting the camera ready is like getting your weapon ready, just gotta do it slowly and when the animal can't see it. Getting your camera and weapon both ready and getting the kill shot on screen is when it gets tough.

I wont forget my first gar. It was an accident but I was psyched because I had always wanted to catch one. I was probably 12 or 13.
