Need a miracle

Well, unless a miracle strikes this will be the first year since I was around 12 that I'll not kill a deer.
35 years of success looks to be coming to an end.
I did take my son and he put the boom down on a nice buck and a good doe.
Just kinda sad but happy to spend time in the woods with him.
As I've said before, enjoy the health you have......things can change in an instant.
It has been very hard for me this year.
Maybe I'll wake up to one standing in the yard.

Erwin is in northeast Tn along the North Carolina border. It is buck only there until next bow season. If i could help him i would but all i have at the moment is CNF land to hunt. Im praying for you to feel good enough to get out and get you one.

Success in hunting should be more than numbers. Some of my best hunts ended without me seeing a deer.

Maybe it's just me, but I would gladly give up getting a deer this year if I could put my kid on a deer.
I have been taking my daughter hunting for several years and we have never seen a deer while hunting together. I always end up getting a few doe. I have only killed one doe this year and I wish it would have been her that killed it.
Seems to me that you have already had a good season.

I have been thankful to be able to get out and take him. He was happy as could be with his deer, both of them.
I've just been the guide taking him to the location.
Recovery is slow. It's hard to swallow, I've always been health and active.
I still request prayers and hope to get better each day.

His success and our time together were better than me ever killing another deer.

I haven't been able to bow hunt this season at all due to injury to arm.
I have a buddy gonna take me next week to a place.
He has lots of deer there, it's not over yet.

My boy has a Xbox I use. I use a tripod with it.
I can shoot a rifle fine but I've just been glad for him.

I think I can still get a doe in Sullivan county????? I'll have to check
Concussions are rough.

I hope you get one as well but I figure in this day and age, God has more to worry about than who kills a deer. But I do agree all good things come from God!

It is indeed a bit of a sobering moment to realize that "this could be the season that...", but you're not faced with a game ender, which is a true blessing considering what you've been through. And I know you loved the blessing of hooking your son up for his deer. What a feeling, right? Blessings to you in the rest of your pursuit this year. Hope to see a good story/photo post in the weeks to come.
