That one has me baffled, my schools back in the 70s had the wire mess in most all exterior and many interior doors, when did that change? Back then it was probably more of a safety issue vs security but it may have slowed, and maybe prevented her from entering so easily.
Good point
She/he/it/ might not have gotten in.

Public Service Announcement: We need to remember we are not discussing Public Safety with gun banners - they are trying to make it look like they are but they know very well that there is no such thing. However People Control is the real driver and all this talk about public safety and gun control is a smoke screen. There is NOT ONE TN GUN LAW THAT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS MONSTER FROM DOING ITS THING ON MONDAY. You and I know that and they do too - at least the funders and leaders of the gun control movement.
Yep.

The reason the AR-15 is more popular than the AR-10 and other .308 caliber battle rifles is simple, weight. They are a lot heavier.

i suspect that is why "it" used a Keltec 9mm Carbine. The Ar-15 "it" had was probably too heavy and probably kicked too much. When you see "it" walking around the halls looking for more victims "it" has it tucked under its arms like its getting some relief from the weight.

China and Russia were a problem under Trump. They've been a problem for decades, and have only gotten worse. Only a fool would think otherwise.

"Academia hasn't influenced me" - not exactly something to brag about.
Wrong again. They respected / feared Trump. And if your going to quote me , do it correctly . I said “ academia hasn’t fooled or influenced me” and yes I’m bragging about it. Again I mention your lack of self awareness . The side you voted for is mostly responsible for tragedies like just happened and yet here you are, sharing your wisdom . You want mothers to be able to kill their babies in the womb as easily as possible as if they don’t matter and you expect people to value life outside the womb? Saying it’s ok to kill the unborn , even celebrating it , causes people to think NO human life matters. It all starts there. The one positive thing I can say is I’m glad to see you praising the LEO in this case as opposed to you trashing them like you did as DicPinocchio before you got your new identity .

I'm not big on law enforcement, sorry, but them boys right there, handled their business fearlessly. I tip my hat to them ;) I pray for the families involved and piss on the shooter.

Maybe my question wasn't worded clearly. I'm curious if the people who were shot, were the only ones shot because they were in the open, while the rest of the teachers and students were secured and locked down??

I ask that because I see comments about who she targeted and why. It appears possible, at least to me, procedures in place worked, other than the doors being able to withstand her attack, and the victims were shot or "targeted" simply because they were caught in an open area and not because of who they were??

It appears to me its possible a whole bunch of kid's lives were saved because of the plans and precautions that were in place.
The report I saw this morning said the principal was on a zoom call. She left her call and went to the shooter, where it shot and killed her. One of the kids, a 9 year old little girl, was shot when she tried to pull the fire alarm to alert others. This was what was reported on Fox anyway. Hasn't heard about the other 4, if it was wrong place wrong time, but I had initially heard that one of the kids was a child of the pastor of the church, and there was possibly something in the manifesto about the shooter wanting to kill the pastor, so maybe the pastors kid was targeted.

The manifesto needs to be made public.

And the sooner the better. I have near-zero confidence that the full package will ever see the light of day.

I may be in the minority but I couldn't care less what the manifesto of that thing was. I don't care what drove *it* to do those things. The less publicity and attention that sort of thing gets, the less chance of people trying to copycat it for the same reasons. What they should be doing is 4k high definition, continued footage of *its* head getting splattered and saying WE DON'T CARE what reason you might have....this is BEST CASE scenario of how it ends for you.

I’ve been thinking this all day. They are probably making it PG from its original R version.
That's what they are doing. The shooter is dead so there is no reason not to release it. The Nashville Police dept released the body cams right away showing close to everything to get out in the open. You can bet now they are under a lot of pressure NOT to release the entire manifesto .

Yep.
Pretty amazing just how much of our real "problems" are actually spawned as much by government as by misguided people?

The FBI was was way out of line at both Ruby Ridge & Waco.
I don't think McVeigh would have become the terrorist he became
if not for the evil & corrupt leadership he saw, first hand, in both the FBI & the government.

That was still no excuse for him to murder innocent people & children.
But then, we saw our very own government do exactly that at Waco & Ruby Ridge.
Government did it with impunity.
McVeigh was executed (as he should have been).
Is this not a lawless double-standard?
When our govt wants you to be the bad guy... YOU WILL BE the BAD guy. They will turn a good man inside out to fit the narrative they need regarldess of the collateral damage.

Ashli Babbitt also comes to mind.

what might be in this group is certainly a minority.
Yes, a minority, but a very vocal and not minuscule minority. We all know that there’s bad cops, but some on this board throw them all in the same category. Ironically, I got pulled over yesterday after work for running a stop sign AND expired license plate. I had the plate in my car but hadn’t put it on yet, he still only gave me a warning even though I deserved a ticket.
